Alex Lyon continues to make his presence felt as Flyers fall to caps in OT

Alex Lyon performed at a high rate, but the Philadelphia Flyers fall to the Washington Capitals in overtime, 2-1.

“Almost” only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Against the Washington Capitals, Alex Lyon almost earned his first shutout in the NHL. After two scoreless periods, the Philadelphia Flyers won the race to the scoreboard.

Scott Laughton has scored the majority of his goals against the Capitals this season. Last night, his fifth against Washington of his nine total goals gave the Flyers a third-period lead.
