After Friday night’s dominating victory over the Detroit Red Wings, there was one player who stood out the most:
Matt Niskanen
And no, it isn’t because he took a puck to the face.
Back in June, a trade that sent Radko Gudas to the division rival Washington Capitals also welcomed Matt Niskanen into an orange and black uniform. Since then, the veteran blueliner has been the most consistent player on the Flyers.
Improved Performance
Last season, Niskanen had a very poor season in his final season with the Washington Capitals. The defenceman recorded 25 points in 80 games for the Caps, however, what lacked most was his efficiency.
