USWNT, Julie Ertz win second consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup

THEY DID IT!

The US Women’s National Team, and Julie Ertz, won their second-consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cup, and fourth World Cup in team history — 1991, 1999 and 2015 — beating the Netherlands 2-0 on Sunday.

Julie Ertz was close to a score off a corner kick early on in the match, but the United States didn’t get on the board until they were awarded a penalty kick in the second half. Megan Rapinoe took the kick and was able to easily misdirect the Netherlands’ goalie for the first score of the day.
