For all the continuity and star power assembled on offense for the Philadelphia Eagles this season, the results through five games have produced a puzzling mixed bag.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts seems out-of-sync with new play caller Kevin Patullo. Star wide receivers A.J. Brown and DaVonta Smith are obviously frustrated. Even cheat-code running back Saquon Barkley has been searching for answers, whether he’s getting 24 touches like Week 2 at Kansas City, or the inexplicable nine he received in Sunday’s brutal, 21-17 loss at home to the Denver Broncos.
Philly’s struggles out of the chute are hard to fathom, seeing how the offensive group is just about fully intact from last year’s championship team.
