At the time of this story being published, we’re midway through the month of May, and that buzz surrounding rookie Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith hasn’t died down any. Nor, should it. Birds fans have been waiting for a long time for someone like this to come through the door, so forgive them if they’re a tad giddy.
It’s funny how things work out sometimes, isn’t it?
Here’s a walk down memory lane if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Not even two months ago, there were thoughts about whether or not Smith should be taken in front of Ja’Marr Chase or his teammate at the collegiate level, Jaylen Waddle, but there were a lot of voices that we trusted that were saying despite the fact that Chase sat out of the 2020 NCAA football season and despite the fact that Waddle had been injured, that both were the better prospects.
