Jon Ritchie, a former Eagles fullback (2003-04), born and raised in Central Pennsylvania, fumbled on his first bid for public office. But he just might get a another chance to make a run for the same office later this season.
According to the Harrisburg Patriot-News, Ritchie, who lost a GOP primary April 26 for a state Senate seat representing Cumberland and York counties, maybe has a enough write-in votes on the Democratic side to make a bid for the seat in November.
No word yet on whether the Stanford grad (who also played at Michigan and was twice named to academic all-conference teams, once in the Big-10, once in the PAC-10) wants another shot.
