AFTERSHOCKS from the Gareon Conley sexual assault allegation are being felt in draft rooms around the NFL, nowhere more acutely than in the NovaCare complex.
The Eagles, drafting 14th overall Thursday evening, desperately need a top-shelf cornerback. They are thought to have been among the teams most interested in Conley, often touted as the second-best corner in a strong draft class, behind his Ohio State teammate, Marshon Lattimore.
It seemed possible Conley would go a bit before the 14th pick. Now, in the wake of being accused Tuesday (but not charged, pending an investigation) of raping a woman in a Cleveland hotel earlier this month, he almost certainly will not.
