PITTSBURGH – The starters will play through the first quarter and perhaps into the second. The emphasis for the coaching staff is to continue to evaluate and to find the best 53 players for this roster in September. Tonight is another step. And tonight is one to watch quarterback Sam Bradford and get a sense of where he is in this offense for 2016.
This is Bradford’s fifth offense, the fifth “language” he’s had to learn in his NFL career. The first pick in the 2010 draft, Bradford has been dealt a dizzying array of obstacles to overcome in his career: two seasons ruined by knee injuries, five offensive coordinators and a constantly changing cast of players around him.
