Philadelphia Eagles OT Lane Johnson takes one for the team

As the NFL’s free agency period began, the Philadelphia Eagles have been starving for cap space. While they were roughly $10 million over, they continued to look for a solution to get under the cap by Wednesday. Well, Eagles starting right tackle Lane Johnson just made everything a lot easier for the team as he restructured his deal to help out with the funds.

ESPN’s NFL insider Field Yates reported on Tuesday morning that Johnson chose to restructure his contract to help free up $7.5 million in cap space! That is a massive move for the Eagles as they take a positive step towards getting under the cap.
