Philadelphia Eagles Nearing A Deal With Offensive Lineman Lane Johnson

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to sign another major piece to the team’s future on offense.

Per Jeff McLane of Philly.com, the Eagles and Offensive Lineman Lane Johnson are nearing a new deal, which would solidify Johnson as the team’s franchise offensive tackle.

A long-term contract extension for Johnson could mean a few things. For starters, it could mean that Jason Peters may be on his way out of Philadelphia. Peters, one of the greatest left tackles in recent NFL history, has steadily been on the decline. Peters made the Pro Bowl this season (even though he probably shouldn’t have), but after suffering an injury against the Carolina Panthers in Week 7, which is believed to be degenerative, it would not be much of a surprise to see the Eagles move on from him.
