Pederson's clock management? We shall see

Doug Pederson stood in the front of the NovaCare Complex auditorium for more than an hour Tuesday afternoon. He thanked lots of people and answered question after question about the most high-profile job he has ever held.

Sure, he once opened a season as an NFL starting quarterback right here in Philadelphia, but nothing he did or said mattered much, which was good because he never did or said much that mattered. Pederson was Andy Reid's chosen body and mind to bridge the gap to the start of Donovan McNabb's career. After three seasons as Brett Favre's backup in Green Bay, he knew the West Coast offense that Reid wanted installed and those were the only credentials he needed in 1999.
