After handing out settlements to Danny Gray and Marcus Tate, the Eagles have made another transaction ahead of their first preseason game. After the current Long Snapper, Charley Hughlett, was listed as limited due to a neck injury, Philadelphia opted for rookie Christian Johnstone out of Appalachian State.
The move comes as the Eagles begin a new era at the position. Rick Lovato had manned the position since 2016 (due to a Jon Dorenbos injury), taking over full time in 2017 and appearing in every game from 17 to 2024, including the Eagles' two Super Bowl victories.
