The NFL will have a new look this year with players now allowed more jersey number flexibility than before. The league officially loosened its restrictions on Wednesday.
For context, here’s a handy graph from Wikipedia showing the PREVIOUS limits:

The NEW changes allow:
- Running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends to wear 1-49 and 80-89
- Defensive backs to wear any number from 1-49
- Linebackers to wear any numbers from 1-59 and 90-99
- All offensive linemen to wear 50-79 (centers previously only allowed in 50s)
As for what’s stayed the same, quarterbacks must still pick between 1-19.
