Merrill Reese’s Eagles-Rams final call leaves fans with chills

Merrill Reese has called some fun Philadelphia Eagles games over his 46 years in the broadcast booth, and Sunday’s improbable win over the Los Angeles Rams has to be high on the list.

First, the Eagles couldn’t move the football on offense and wound up trailing by 17 points early in the third quarter. The reigning Super Bowl champs then came alive with a furious rally to take a one-point lead with 1:48 remaining.

Philly ultimately survived thanks to a pair of blocked field goals in the fourth quarter — the second of which produced an all-time highlight with 330-pound defensive tackle Jordan Davis sprinting untouched to the end zone for a 61-yard, game-sealing score.
