As Jeffrey Clayon Riegel was nearing death, among the Eagles’ fan last wishes was to have eight team members serve as his pallbearers.
Why?
“So the Eagles can let him down one last time,” according to an obituary published in the Press of Atlantic City.
According to the obituary, it was not a “beautiful” golf day when Mr. Riegel, 56, of Port Republic, died on Aug. 18 to “finish a long overdue game of golf.”
He was described as a “wonderful husband, uncle, brother and son” who was quick with kind words for others.
