John DeFilippo reportedly hired by Vikings: Eagles lose quarterbacks coach

Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo isn’t returning to Philadelphia for the 2018 season. Flip has been hired as the Minnesota Vikings’ new offensive coordinator, according to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter.

It’s not surprising to see Flip leave. The 39-year-old assistant’s contract was set to expire 10 days after the Eagles’ season. Instead of making the Vikings wait to interview him, the Eagles seemingly granted their request to talk to him. Philadelphia blocked Flip from interviewing for the New York Jets’ offensive coordinator position last offseason, so it seems like they didn’t want to sour relations by delaying an inevitable interview.
