As of right now, the NFL is planning to kickoff the 2020 season on time. But, as we’ve seen, plans can change at a moment’s notice in our current pandemic-riddled climate.
With the other pro sports leagues scheduled to begin or resume at the end of July, much attention will be paid to how they all play out over the course of the first month or so before the NFL kicks off.
Based on the current resurgence of the virus and many states now rolling back on their re-opening plans and the predicted resurgence of the virus in the fall combined with the normal flu season, a cancellation of the NFL season is certainly within the realm of realistic possibilities.
