Eagles waive Blake Countess, bring back a defensive tackle

The Eagles have brought back defensive tackle Aziz Shittu and waived safety Blake Countess with an injury settlement to make room for their new defender. Shittu was out on the practice field on Tuesday, wearing No. 67.

Shittu was signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent back in 2016, but he was released ahead of the regular season. He was then re-signed in 2017, but ultimately ended up on IR with a knee injury — he still earned a Super Bowl ring though. The Eagles then released him in September 2018 before he was picked up and added to the Cowboys’ practice squad for the season.
