Eagles signing of Josh McCown has reignited an old friendship

The Eagles went out of their way to bring in the most experienced backup quarterback possible this week, with the signing of Josh McCown coming just days after Cody Kessler suffered a concussion on Thursday night. McCown had previously retired from Football, but put that on hold for one last ride and a chance at an elusive Super Bowl ring.

While 16 years of experience, a winning record, and a positive TD/INT ratio all sound great, the Eagles have also relit a fire that was burning during Alshon Jeffery’s rookie year.

McCown was thrown into action that year as the Bears quarterback, instantly connecting with the wide receiver whom he called moments after he was drafted by the team.
