Eagles' position battle becomes crystal clear with one preseason game remaining

The big talk on Sunday for the Philadelphia Eagles was general manager Howie Roseman's trade for Houston Texans wide receiver John Metchie III. Still, one aspect of the trade hasn't been discussed as much.

While Day 3 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft were swapped, the Texans did receive another player as well: tight end Harrison Bryant. After the season-ending injury to Brevin Jordan, Houston found his replacement in Bryant.

In his short time with the Eagles in preseason, Bryant has not recorded any stats. He was in competition for the TE3 job as he was battling against Kylen Granson.
