When Chris Chester decided to sign with the Atlanta Falcons instead of the Eagles last week, it wasn't because Philadelphia didn't make a strong offer. According to a report from ESPN Insider Adam Caplan, Philadelphia offered the veteran offensive lineman a multi-year contract, whereas the Falcons only signed him to a one-year deal.
"On Chris Chester, Eagles offered a 2-year deal, but he has a better chance of starting with Falcons (LG or even C if [Joe] Hawley isn't ready)."
The 32-year-old Chester clearly valued the opportunity for playing time.
