Eagles News: Carson Wentz isn’t getting sacked because he’s holding on to the ball for too long

Upon further review: What to make of Carson Wentz’s performance through three games? - The Athletic
Overall, Wentz is getting rid of the ball in 2.76 seconds – almost an identical number to last year when he was at 2.72 seconds. On average, the sacks he’s taken have occurred 3.927 seconds after the ball is snapped. The league average is 4.280 seconds. In other words, the sacks Wentz has taken have happened faster than the league average rate. Could Wentz do a better job pre-snap? Sure. And Doug Pederson has mentioned that he’s still getting used to game speed.
