Eagles needed 1 play to make handing pink slip to defender in offseason easier

It's been a rough season for Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Kelee Ringo, who has had plenty of trials and tribulations in his third NFL season.

Ringo was thrust into the lineup as the Eagles' CB2 at one point in the season, setting a career high in defensive snaps going into Week 18 against the Washington Commanders for his "prove it" start. While Ringo performed average, a lone play-action bootleg by the 39-year-old veteran Josh Johnson has Eagles fans calling for him to be removed from the field.

Kelee Ringo certainly played his way out of any shot with starting on defense

The Eagles rested their starters in Week 18, allowing Ringo and others to showcase their skills not only to their current organization but also to all NFL franchises, with the offseason right around the corner for 18 franchises.
