Eagles need to trim their roster down to 80 by the start of training camp

In a progressive day for the NFL, the NFLPA have agreed upon a couple of important steps in order for there to be a 2020 season. With the preseason now canceled, teams will have to trim their rosters down to 80…with many GM’s already working under that guideline.

This explains the Eagles’ recent flurry of roster moves. Keegan Render and Trevor Williams were released earlier today, while WR Khalil Tate was waived yesterday. The Eagles roster currently stands at 87, meaning the team have to part ways with 7 more players by July 28th, the date that camp opens.
