While Philadelphia Eagles fans watched the Washington Commanders get rocked by the Minnesota Vikings, they saw a beloved former player get injured in the game.
Commanders tight end and former Eagle Zach Ertz was going up for a catch late in the third quarter when a Vikings defender came flying with his shoulders colliding with Ertz's right leg, which was swung awkwardly. Ertz had to be helped off the field and was carted off the sideline.
It was a horrific and heartbreaking moment as Ertz was emotional when getting checked on. Former Eagles quarterback and current Commander Marcus Mariota came over to Ertz to comfort him.
