Eagles elevate Trevor Williams from the practice squad

The Philadelphia Eagles elevated veteran practice squad cornerback Trevor Williams to the active roster ahead of the team’s Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Rams, according to an official announcement.

This promotion was expected. With Craig James going on injured reserve, the Eagles were down to just four cornerbacks on the 53: Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox, Nickell Robey-Coleman, and Cre’Von LeBlanc. Elevating Williams gives Philly a fifth body at the position.

The Eagles originally signed Williams to a reserve/future contract back in January.
