The ESPYs! Boy, is this the night for you if you’re super depressed regarding the lack of professional sports in mid-July (check!), passionate about absurd athlete outfits (eh) and B-list celebrities (God no), and enjoy bad roasts of popular athletes (cringe). The Eagles had three opportunities to win on the evening, and every opportunity to regret being so successful, which forced them to attend such a silly event.
The first award of the night in which an Eagle was in the running—Best Championship Performance—went to Nick Foles. He was up against Kevin Durant (Golden State Warriors), Donte DiVincenzo (Villanova Wildcats) and George Springer (Houston Astros) for their respective performances in the NBA Finals, NCAA Championship, and World Series.
