What player's performance leaves you most optimistic after Game 1?
Les Bowen: Sam Bradford showed courage and poise
THE OBVIOUS answer here is Sam Bradford, though I probably could have had him to myself had I chosen him as the most encouraging Eagle at halftime Monday night.
Bradford showed courage and poise, bringing the offense back for three successive second-half touchdowns and what should have been a go-ahead field goal, after a horrible first half. I had him 17 of his first 18 in the second half. True, just about all of it was underneath, much of it dump-offs, but he was taking hits and getting the ball where it needed to go to move the chains, running Chip Kelly's tempo and converting scoring opportunities, in a frenzied Georgia Dome, having not played a real, regular-season game in nearly two years.
