Chase Daniel not conceding starting job to Bradford

THERE WAS a time once when Doug Pederson was a little miffed at Andy Reid. A career backup tutored by Don Shula in Miami and Paul Holmgren in Green Bay, understudy to Dan Marino and Brett Favre, Pederson was lured to Philadelphia by his old Packers quarterbacks coach with the assurance that he would finally get a chance to start a full season.

That chance was aborted after a 2-7 start, Pederson giving way to the rookie he was brought in to groom, Donovan McNabb. When the season ended, Pederson left to be a starter for Cleveland, where a similar fate awaited.
