Brooks headed for surgery; Jenkins to slot?

Eagles coach Doug Pederson confirmed Monday that nickel cornerback Ron Brooks suffered a season-ending quadriceps tendon rupture in the first quarter of Sunday's victory over Minnesota.

Pederson said Brooks will have surgery this week. "We're going to miss him, obviously," Pederson said.

A source close to the situation said Brooks probably won't be ready for spring OTAs, but should be able to participate in training camp next July.

Pederson said the Eagles' roster move is still under discussion, but he indicated the backup plan used Sunday, in which safety Malcolm Jenkins went to the slot and Jaylen Watkins took Jenkins' place, would continue.
