For the first time in his eight-year NFL career, Allen Barbre is entering a season locked in as a starter. Barbre started at right tackle for the Eagles in Week 1 last season, though he was filling in for the suspended Lane Johnson. Now, with Evan Mathis departed, the left guard position belongs to Barbre, who has never started a regular season game at guard.
"I'm excited about it. I'm looking forward to being out there running with the ones," said Barbre. "I feel good there, so I'm excited."
Having played mainly tackle, Barbre found himself needing to make a few changes in his game.
