The Eagles made the move after Acho suffered a thumb injury that required surgery.
The waived/injured designation means that every team will have a chance to claim Acho. If no one does, the Eagles can put him on injured reserve or agree to an injury settlement.
Acho was expected to compete for backup duties at middle linebacker.
