In an incredibly #OnBrand development, the Philadelphia 76ers are now dealing with an injury to their top pick from the 2018 NBA Draft. Zhaire Smith, who came off the board 16th overall, sustained a foot injury while training in Las Vegas.
Afterward, Yahoo’s Shams Charania reported that Smith suffered a Jones fracture in his left foot — the same injury that sidelined Ben Simmons for the entire 2016-17 season. We can only hope that Christian Wood wasn’t Smith’s training partner.
On a more serious note, Smith is likely to miss a sizable chunk of time.
