For the second straight year basketball fans will find 76ers center Joel Embiid on the court with the first team once the NBA All-Star Game tips off in Charlotte on Feb. 17. Thursday's selection makes Embiid the latest Sixer voted to start in consecutive All-Star Games, the last being Allen Iverson when "The Answer" made seven straight starts from 2000 to 2006.
It's fitting that "The Process" is following in the footsteps of Philadelphia's last franchise player, but Embiid shouldn't be the only 76er logging minutes at Spectrum Center during the league's annual showcase of its top talent next month.
