Sixers waiving Dakota Mathias

As reported by PhillyVoice’s Kyle Neubeck, the Sixers are waiving guard Dakota Mathias. Mathias was on a two-way contract with the club, but with healthy bodies not in contact with COVID-affected individuals in short supply this season, he actually ended up playing 15.4 minutes per game across eight appearances, including two starts. Although his numbers of 6.0 points and 1.6 assists per game appear modest, Mathias did hit the game-winning 3 in last Tuesday’s overtime win against Miami, and more importantly, had one Liberty Ballers Bell Ringer.

Neubeck reports that there is not a corresponding move coming to fill Mathias’ vacant roster spot.
