After blowing double-digit lead in the fourth quarter, the Sixers needed overtime to topple Charlotte Friday night at the Center. A win’s a win, but I’m sure Brett Brown would have preferred a less strenuous finish, as the team had to fly to Memphis for tonight’s game against the Grizzlies.
Already this season, we’ve seen how the second night of a back-to-back can tilt the scales. The losses in Milwaukee, Toronto, and Brooklyn were some of Philadelphia’s worst performances of the season. In particular, the game against the Nets was a clunker, with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons both saying afterwards that the team played soft.
