Sixers’ supporting cast helps team over the hump in Game 3 win

Joel Embiid (playoff-career-high 50 points) and Tyrese Maxey (25 points and seven assists) will deservedly receive plenty of flowers for their contributions in the Philadelphia 76ers’ 125-114 Game 3 win over the New York Knicks. The big difference between Games 1 and 2 and the contest on Thursday night was the play of the supporting cast. Aside from veteran guard Kyle Lowry, the Sixers didn’t receive much from their non-All-Stars back in New York, particularly on the offensive end of the floor. Aside from Lowry’s 18 points in Game 1, nobody other than Embiid or Maxey scored more than 10 points in either defeat.
