Sixers reach new deal with Amir Johnson

As first reported by Liberty Ballers alumnus Jake Fischer, the Sixers have reached an agreement to bring back veteran big man Amir Johnson. The deal is for 1 year, at a reported $2.39 million.

Johnson averaged totals of 4.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and .6 blocks in 15.8 minutes per contest last season, while shooting 53.8% from the field. Most notably, he brought a defensive edge and air of intensity to a young club in need of experience.

This time last offseason, Johnson found himself on the receiving end of a substantial $11 million one year deal to join a young and unproven Sixers squad.
