OAKLAND – Christian Wood is back for his third stint with the 76ers.
The 6-foot-11, 225-pound power forward was recalled from the Delaware 87ers, the Sixers NBA Development League team on Sunday. The Sixers signed him to a second 10-day contract. The team waived recently acquired shooting guard Sonny Weems to make room for the 15-man roster.
Weems injured his left quad in Saturday’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. However, Wood fulfill a need with post players Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel and Richaun Holmes all are sidelined with injuries.
Wood made the Sixers’ season-opening roster as an undrafted rookie free agent out of UNLV.
