Joel Embiid is unlikely to play against the Spurs on Wednesday night.
The star Sixers center landed awkwardly on his right hand toward the end of Sunday's win against the Suns, falling to the ground after colliding with Phoenix guard Devin Booker while leaping for a ball. Embiid grimaced in pain but remained in the game. X-rays after the game came back negative.
Tuesday, Embiid was listed as doubtful for the Sixers' first game in 2018, Wednesday at 7 p.m. against San Antonio. Per Philly.com, Embiid received treatment on the hand following Tuesday's practice, in which he was a partial participant.
