Sixers’ Christ Koumadje named G-League DPOY after stunning season

Christ Koumadje has capitalized a very strong first season in the Sixers organization off with a bit of hardware to add to his trophy case. An undrafted rookie out of Florida State, Koumadje led the G-League in blocks per game and total blocks this past season, earning him the league’s “Defensive Player of the Year” award.

At 7’4″ and 269lbs, the Chad native is an absolute behemoth of a man. Operating primarily as a rim-protecting center, Koumadje averaged 11.3 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks per game. He appeared in 33 total games and averaged just over 26 minutes per game.
