Sixers rookies Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz are interesting case studies in expectation.
Fultz was the No. 1 overall pick this season, and thus expected to contribute right away. After four strange games and months of shot-changing speculation, Fultz has already been pre-maturely (and stupidly) projected a bust by some.
Simmons, on the other hand, missed his entire true rookie season, and then busted anyone’s expectations right out of the gates this year.
In his first 10 games, Simmons averaged 17.8 points, 10.1 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game.
