Shin, knee to sideline Okafor another game

Jahlil Okafor will miss his fifth straight game when the 76ers host the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Center.

The rookie power forward didn’t participate in Tuesday’s practice at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Okafor bruised his right shin while bumping knees with teammate Isaiah Canaan on Feb. 28.

“His shin is coming along,” coach Brett Brown said after practice. “There is some soreness in his knee. We’ve been treating his shin. During that whole procedure, we are trying to figure out some swelling in his knee, some soreness in his knee. And we are going to keep him out of the Houston game for the reason.
