Philadelphia 76ers need better center depth, not more center depth

Several factors contributed to the Philadelphia 76ers‘ heartbreaking second-round loss. Joel Embiid was sick, Tobias Harris struggled and the bench only went seven deep before imploding. One major weakness in the second unit, of course, was the center position.

The Sixers needed to manufacture minutes behind Embiid, but there weren’t any viable options to fill his gaps in playing time. Brett Brown used Greg Monroe and Boban Marjanovic at different points in the series, but both struggled immensely.

In addition to Boban and Monroe, the Sixers had Amir Johnson and Jonah Bolden riding the bench.
