With the news that Elton Brand was hired as the Philadelphia 76ers general manager, it would be easy to overlook other important news being revealed on the same day. According to Keith Pompey of philly.com, rookie Zhaire Smith is expected to make his debut in December (the tweet that contained this information also had a story linked in it that requires a subscription to read).
Pompey later tweeted that head coach Brett Brown gave the date of Dec. 12 of this year as Smith’s return date, but Brown apparently retracted that particular date and stuck with the idea that Smith would return at some point in December.
