PH women's volleyball team done with PSL tune-ups, to ramp up Asiad preparations

The last time the Philippines was represented in women's volleyball in the Asian Games was the year that Karen Carpenter passed away, Magic Johnson was named NBA Finals MVP when the Los Angeles Lakers defeated Julius Erving and the Philadelphia 76ers for the crown and the classic teen flick "Bagets" was still being filmed.

That was 1982 in New Delhi, India.

In that edition of the competition, there were only six participating nations in the women's tournament with the Pinays dropping straight set losses to North Korea, South Korea, Japan and eventual titlists China but managed to sweep the host nation en route to a respectable fifth place finish.
