Nik Vucevic, the Sixers, and a bad memory

We live in a world driven by marketing. That said, Tuesday night’s matchup could have been billed as The Process vs. The Excess.

For anyone who has watched the NBA in the Josh Harris era, the matchup between Sixers rookie Joel Embiid and Magic center Nikola Vucevic triggered memories of one of the darkest of days for the Sixers:

The day Andrew Bynum came to town.

That was back in the summer of 2012, a day foolishly heralded by Harris as a franchise-altering moment. Harris was in the second year of his absentee ownership. He had acquiesced to coach and de facto general manager Doug Collins.
