NBA mock draft 2017: Sixers trading down, taking Malik Monk?

This is why Bryan Colangelo is now running the Sixers.

When team brass had to replace (or push out) Sam Hinkie in 2016, the next man up would be gifted great power--but also carry great responsibility: Use the assets correctly in building a winning team around Joel Embiid.

Through one year of Colangelo, it's been a mixed bag. While drafting Ben Simmons at No. 1 overall was a no-brainer, the ex-Raptors and Suns executive did some good (taking Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot at No. 24) and some bad (trading Nerlens Noel for a bag of balls, keeping Jahlil Okafor, public relations snafus).
