Last year, prior to the 2014 NBA Draft, Norman Rose wrote a great article over at SB Nation’s Rumble in the Garden, St. John’s Basketball SB Nation website, evaluating JaKarr Sampson‘s game. There were two words that he said Sampson needed if he were going to make it into the NBA, “hard work”.
And that is exactly what Sampson has done.
During his first year in the league, JaKarr didn’t showcase any particular offensive skill set, but he did what the team needed him to do. He shot the three ball when he was open, hit the boards when the team needed a rebound, and was a solid finisher at the rim.
