As a kid growing up I could remember watching clips of Michael Jordan and having conversations with my dad saying that he was the best to ever play the game.
His response would always be, “Son, you need to watch Dr. J. He’s who MJ was imitating”. Then I saw a clip of him in one of Jordan’s documentaries, in which the Doctor won the 1976 ABA Slam Dunk contest with a dunk taking off from the foul line.
I was in awe, thinking my Dad was right, especially considering MJ used the same dunk to win two Slam Dunk Contests.
